Note:

In my opinion, this fine song is an obvious choice as the first single from Almost Cured of Sadness – an album now remembered as Stephen’s most horrifically promoted record ever. As the most upbeat and seemingly positive track on the album, Friend would probably be the only track which could be expected to secure a bit of vital fuzz from the radio play.

And the track for all intents and purposes a pretty OK choice, though there are by far better songs on the album. The version featured here is trimmed with a minute or so compared the album version.

The instrumental Retro Exterminator is a short piece club madness loaded with weird samples as one would expect – which is just plain fun and not much more, but nevertheless it would have gained a few extra points of dance appeal (or how one would prefer to enjoy this!) if it didn’t just fade out after some two and a half minutes.

Walking in the Shadows appeared on the 2002 ACOS promo as one of the bonus tracks, but makes a very welcome return here to end this too short (9 minutes) sequence of songs.
